  • This machine should be used as often as recommended by your doctor. However, these machines can be worn all day, including while you sleep. They don’t go below 42 degrees Fahrenheit. So, there is no concern of thermal necrosis.

  • The machine will run uninterrupted on the intermittent setting for 13 hours then shut off as a safety mechanism. To start it back up just turn the machine off and then back on again to repeat a 13-hour cycle.

  • Be sure it is fully connected to the machine and the wrap. There is an audible and tactile click once the hose is fully connected to the wrap and the machine.

  • Please Call our Patient Care Line to help with trouble shooting. (Have your error code ready)

  • Call our Patient Care Line and we will send a new unit to you at no charge after a brief trouble shooting.

  • Very simple. You will have a pre-paid shipping label in the box when your unit arrives. When you’re ready to ship it back to us, just place the shipping label on top of the original shipping label, place all items back in the box (You can keep the wrap or throw it away), And use the single sided tape provided to tape up the box. Place the package outside your front door and let us know it’s ready for pick up. We will take care of the rest! It’s that easy.

  • Typically, these units are rented for a month or two at a time. However, you can rent these units as long as you need them.

Important Guidelines

At Halo Recover, we prioritize empowering our patients with comprehensive knowledge about the safe use of the NICE1 Cold Compression Therapy device. Please be mindful of the following contraindications and cautions during use:

Do not use the NICE1 device or any cold therapy if you:

  • Suffer from significant vascular impairments such as prior frostbite, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, or ischemia in the treatment area.

  • Have conditions like acute paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria or cryoglobulinemia.

  • Experience Raynaud’s disease or have a hypersensitivity to cold (cold urticaria).

Contraindications

1) Avoid inserting any objects into the therapy unit through its frame.

2) Prevent any liquids from spilling on the therapy unit.

3) Ensure the reservoir is not overfilled.

4) Unplug and dry the unit thoroughly if it gets wet before reuse.

5) Use only the power supply and cord provided with your unit.

6) Do not operate the device if it shows any signs of damage, leakage, or if the power cord is damaged.

Caution

7) Avoid using near devices that emit electromagnetic or other interference.

8) Refrain from smoking or using the therapy wraps near an open flame.

9) Keep all foreign objects out of the fan or unit reservoir.

10) Do not consume or come into contact with the circulating solution.

11) Avoid dropping or causing an impact on the therapy unit.

12) Ensure the therapy wrap is not applied too tightly, restricting circulation.

1) Do not leave the NICE1 device running unattended with children or incapacitated individuals.

2) Stop using the device and consult a professional if you notice unusual swelling, skin discoloration, or discomfort.

3) Do not apply therapy wraps directly to open wounds or damaged skin.

Warnings

4) Adhere to your physician’s instructions regarding the frequency and duration of use.

5) Only use therapy wraps approved by NICE1 to ensure compatibility and safety during treatment.

6) Discontinue compression therapy immediately if you experience discomfort, numbness, or tingling in the limbs.
